Durban Ski Boat Club Festival
April 19 @ 8:00 am - April 21 @ 5:00 pm
Next year Friday the 19th and Monday the 22nd April are holidays. This is the Easter Weekend.
We have taken the decision to hold our Festival over the Easter Weekend.
Obviously, we are inviting you to participate is this popular event, and hope you and your family will join us.
If you enter, we will provide secure parking for your boat from Wed the 17th through to the following Wednesday 24th April. If you arrive earlier or want to stay beyond the 24th we will still look after you.
All tractor tows and launches will be provided free of charge and we will make you a temporary member for your time you are with us so you can enjoy our crazy discounted food and beverage offers. Our food is out of the top draw!
One of our big focuses will be providing entertainment from Friday the 19th through to Monday the 22nd April, and there will be a lot for children and adults to enjoy—-surf ski races in the harbour entrance, helicopter rescues by the NSRI, cooking demos, jungle gyms etc.
Although the competition days are Sat 20t)h and Sun 21st we have set Monday aside as a fishing day in the event a blow out on Saturday and or Sunday.
Our first prize is a Seacat 510 with twin 60HP Yamaha 2 stroke engines on a galvanised trailer—-Value R410000.
A feature of our Festival is the number of prizes and value that we put up, be it for the biggest fish, and or lucky draw prizes. You got to be in it to win it!
We are advising you of these dates early so you can plan your holiday in Durban over the Easter Weekend. As you can imagine accommodation gets taken up very quickly over this busy period.
Attached please find the entry form and the festival flyer.
For accommodation in the Point Precinct – please contact: 0826641274 (Cecily) 0824507956 (Bly) and 0824886234 (Point Waterfront Apartments) ——– get in now before they get taken up!

DSBC Festival Convenors.
Please get your entries in, and remember the skipper and crews of the first 50 boats will be given 3 lucky tickets each and will participate in a draw of your own competing with the other lucky skippers and crew that make up the 50 boats. —-ONE, TWO, IT IS ALL FOR YOU!
Already there are 20 boats entered. Once we hit 50, we will hold the draw, and all of you will be invited to witness the draw and outcome. We will have a little “happy hour” just to set the mood.
And there is more————–each of you will also carry over your 3 lucky draw tickets into the combined lucky draw, but here you are competing with all the anglers who entered by the 31/3/2019. It is a no brainer!!!
The prizes will be superb, so don’t miss out.
Also, as a reminder we are really focussing on this being a really great family weekend, and we are even going to have a special tent for the ladies for makeovers—-I think it is called that? I have also told Max Cardona (our Vice Commodore) —he is Italian (you know what that means), that there is a restraining order on him that he cannot get closer than 50 metres.
We will also be rolling out the Red Carpet for the “small folk” —slides, jumping castle etc, and there will be a lot of fun stuff for family supporters—helicopter rescue in the harbour entrance by NSRI etc. On this one we take the early opportunity of thanking Captain Adams—our Port Captain—for all his support.
Attached is the entry form and details where to pay etc so get cracking, and be one of the first 50 boats.
We have also been asked about “backing your own boat” and guessing the sealed weight event—all of this we will handle at registration.
Remember boats are welcomed to be parked at the DSBC from Wed 17th April.
Thanks for your support, and please note it is confirmed by our spies that the cuda are already moving South————–in fact they are holding a Cuda Convention off Vetch’s over the Easter Weekend.
