DSBC facilities are available for hire for all functions, including conferences, weddings, birthday parties (ideal for all ages!), corporatefunctions, cocktail parties and team building events. There are two boardrooms (both of these boardrooms have spectacular views), the Carvery Room can comfortably seat up to 65 people and is great for larger conferences or parties. This leads out onto a deck which has spectacular views of Durban, the harbour entrance and the sea.

The downstairs area can comfortably accommodate up to 100 people and is great for 21st birthday parties. This leads out onto a large grass area and then onto the beach. This area also has its own bar called the Wet Bar.

Please note we cannot promise exclusivity of the entire DSBC Club for your function as it is open to members 7 days a week, however the area of your function that you have booked would be exclusive to you, ie: downstairs area inside DSBC Clubhouse, Carvery Room upstairs, Boardrooms upstairs. If you book the downstairs area during the week or on Friday and Saturday evenings the wet bar would be open solely for your function. However if you are upstairs there may be members in the bar as well during the time of your function, but you would have a barman solely for your function.

PLEASE NOTE OF THE FOLLOWING:

  • Trestle Tables covered in a choice of black or white table cloths.
  • Chairs covered in a choice of black or white chair covers.
  • On site parking.
  • Members to make contact with Functions department for member’s pricing.
  • For new members there is a 3 month probationary period before you can book a function at member’s prices.
  • We are a licensed premises, so no drinks can be brought onto the premises for the function and all drinks will need to bought from the bar.
  • We have the facility to run a tab, or a cash bar for your guests attending your function.
  • Being a licensed premises the usual rules apply in terms of the guests being of age to purchase alcohol. Bar Staff can request ID if someone looks underage.
  • As we are still classed as a residential area, all functions must end by midnight.
  • Any function that will finish after 17:00 will need to pay the duty manager fee.
  • One barman and one cleaner per 50 people is required.
  • Our venue accommodates a maximum of 120 guests

Conferences

DSBC is the BEST place to hold your out of the box conference. Two boardrooms and a larger carvery room will make hosting any conference comfortable. Whatever your needs we can assist! Out of the box meetings on the beach. Feel the sand between your toes while taking your company to the next level! We have projectors, screens, white boards, sound systems and flip charts all readily available. A spectacular place to rest the soul and to have peace to come up with new ideas!

Team builds

To renew your teams energy, what better way than having a team build beside the sea! A warm sea breeze is a great way to lift your team to the next level! Team building events are held on the beach, grass patch or downstairs area dependent on the team building event you choose.

Weddings

For a spectacular beach wedding there is no better venue, or if you wish to be married elsewhere and have your reception with us this is the place to be! Awesome views of Durban in the background, scenic photographs can be taken around the canals of the Point Waterfront, all within easy walking distance. We have profesional drapers, photographers and florists who assist us so we can either take care of your venue and F&B requirements, or we can offer a full package including photographs and flowers.. We can also book your accommodation at an upmarket hotel two blocks away! DSBC is your one stop Wedding venue!!

Parties

If you wish to host a party to remember then DSBC is the place to have it!!

Birthday parties for all ages, cocktail parties, corporate events, family gatherings, school reunions or just a party for no reason!! Upstairs your party will flow onto the deck with fantastic views of the harbour mouth and of the Durban beachfront. Downstairs your party will flow out onto the grass which leads onto the beach. All types of catering available, from the budget friendly to the more lavish menus or a menu tailored specifically to your event. We would love to make your party one to remember!!
